For My Toastmaster Friends In Hendersonville

Here is what I want you to do.  I want you to go to Blogger. com and start a blog.  Here is a link to a You Tube video to show you how.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2QvwgaECps&t=300s   If you don't like this video, pick another one.  There are several.

Blogger may not be the best blogging platform.  It is better than the one you are using now based on the hands I saw raised this morning.  Get started.  Blogger is easy to use.  That is paramount.  Blogger is simple enough that you can get started blogging now.

Write your first article.  You have plenty of talent and ability to write an article about why you joined Toastmasters.  Here is a link to the article I wrote last Wednesday after our meeting.  http://rondclimer.blogspot.com/2017/09/the-easy-way-to-learn-presentation.html   Read this article.  I am certain that you can write an equally articulate article describing why you joined Toastmasters.  Tell us why you continue with Toastmasters.
Public Speaking is a skill.  Just like riding a motorcycle is a skill.

Put a link to Four Seasons Toastmasters in your article www.fourseasonstoastmasters.com  Every time that link appears on the inter net , it increases our Google juice.   Also put a link to www.toastmasters.org in your article.   That is the website for Toastmasters International.  Websites like that are called "Authority websites"  When you have links to authority websites in your article, it increases your Google juice.

Use keywords in your article like presentation skills, public speaking skills, toastmasters, give a speech, fear of public speaking.   Keywords are words that we hope someone will put into a Google search bar.  Try to imagine, as we did at this morning's meeting, what word or phrase people will put into a search bar.  Use those words.  Use those KEY  words in your title.  "Eliminate Fear of Public Speaking With Toastmasters in Hendersonville"  "Improve your Presentation Skills With Toastmasters in Hendersonville"  " Free Practice For Your Public Speaking Techniques in Hendersonville"   These are good titles because if someone puts in any of these words into a search bar, your article is coming up.  Titles are important.  Cute titles are cool but those Google robots do not recognize cool.  They recognize key words and phrases.

Use key words in your article. public speaking, presentation skills, fear , free, enhance your career, leadership training, Go read some of my articles on my blog.  You will notice that most of my articles are about getting a real estate license.  I am in the real estate school business.  I never use the phrase "get a license" .  Instead, I use the phrase "get your North Carolina real estate license "   Brevity may be the soul of wit but it is not the soul of search engine optimization.  "Get a license" will convey the thought to a human reader.  "Get your North Carolina real estate license " is more interesting to the Google robots.  We need to write to please both.

After you write your article, go to Facebook and tell your friends that you wrote it.  Give them a link to it.

Here is something you can do right now to help us promote Four Seasons Toastmasters in Hendersonville, North Carolina.  Go to your Facebook page and tell your friends that you learned something at the meeting this morning.  Put a link to our website.  Then go to my article http://rondclimer.blogspot.com/2015/10/hendersonville-north-carolina.html   Post a comment.  In your comment, put a link to Four Seasons Toastmasters' website.  As a general rule, posting a website link in an article comment is considered SPAM.  If the author of the article says it is OK, it is OK.  Every time our link to our website appears on the inter net, it increases our Google juice.

Every time someone goes to a search bar and types in "Better public speaking skills in Hendersonville", I want us to come up.  If they can find us, we will get more members.  This is a group effort.   I look forward to seeing you all next Wednesday morning at 8 AM.  in Hendersonville, North Carolina.  I also look forward to reading your first article .  Email me a link to it.

  1. And, if you don't want to start your own blog, add to the blog on the FourSeasons Toastermasters site. It looks like there are only a couple and none from 2017: http://fourseasonstoastmasters.com/advance-blog/.
    Just an idea. ;)

  2. Ron Climer and Judy Groff have started the ball rolling. I've heard others at FSTM have started a blog. I hope they'll notify us how to find them.
