North Carolina Real Estate Exam Pass Fail Statistics for December 2016

The North  Carolina Real Estate Commission released the pass fail statistics for December for the North Carolina real estate exam.  Five hundred and sixty eight real estate exam applicants took the North Carolina real estate exam for the first time in December.

Three hundred forty one passed.  Two hundred seventy six will be paying $91 to take the North Carolina real estate exam again.  That is a sixty per cent pass rate.  That is dismal.

It would seem that repeat exam applicants would do better than first time test takers.  That is not true.  Of the 1993 repeat test applicants in December, 2016, only 428 passed.  That is a twenty one per cent success rate.  At $91 per shot, that sounds like no fun at all.

If you are soon taking the North Carolina real estate exam, please heed this advice.  STUDY. STUDY. STUDY.

Problem number one is that test applicants underestimate the North Carolina real estate exam.  Problem number two is most test applicants set their goal to barely pass.  Set your goal to make a 100% on the North Carolina real estate exam.  Study so much that you would be willing to bet $91 that you will pass the first time.
Ron Climer of  First Real Estate School in Hendersonville

Read the textbook.  Read every word of it.  Answer every question in the textbook.  Look for help on the internet.  If you look, you will find my free You Tube videos to help you with the arithmetic that is on the North Carolina real estate  exam.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueNMrduMZqw

Watch the videos.  Be sure that you can do the math. There are five videos where I am wearing the black T shirt shown above.  Be positive that you can do those problems.  Real estate math is 15% of the North Carolina real estate exam.  http://rondclimer.blogspot.com/2016/12/solving-real-estate-math-problems-for.html

If you look for help on the internet, you will find my practice real estate exam for North Carolina. http://rondclimer.blogspot.com/2015/04/real-estate-practice-exam-for-north.html   Take this test.  Take it like a real test.  Uninterrupted.  Mark your answers.  Grade yourself.  If you are not making a 90% on this test, you are not ready for the North Carolina real estate exam.  Keep studying.

If you are not sure what to study, the North Carolina Real Estate Commission tells you what to study in their book, "Real Estate Licensing in North Carolina" .  Here is a link so you can download it for free.  www.ncrec.gov  If you want more info about this wonderful book, here is a link to a video.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZFPZGo_DJ4

Turn off the TV .  Turn off Facebook.  Turn off the video games.  STUDY, STUDY, STUDY.  Forty per cent of the first time test takers did not study enough in December.  This is a $91 mistake.

I have a video review online at www.northcarolinaexamreview.com   It is not free.  It is effective.

Here is a simple study tip.  Make flash cards.  Take 3x5 cards.  Write,"What is excise tax rate?" on one side of the card.  Write, "$1 per $500 of price" on the other side.  Write,"What is T.R.I.D.?" on one side and put the answer on the other side.  Make 500 of these.  Use them all the time until you pass the North Carolina real estate exam.

Here is another study tip.  When you go to the exam site to take your test, leave a legal pad on the front seat of the car.  When you return from the exam with a pass notice in your hand, congratulate yourself.  If you return with a failure notice, start writing notes about the questions that were on your exam.  Tax your memory.  Write down as many questions as you can remember .  You don't have to remember the entire question.  Just remember the concept.  Compute commission.  What is dual agency?  Priority of liens.  How many acres in a section?  Fill up several pages.  Do this now.  Do not tell yourself that you will do it after you finish crying.  Write while the tears are falling on the page.  This info will never be fresher in your mind.  You will see the same concepts when you come back.  When you return as a repeat test taker, you need to be in the upper 21% to pass.

Do not underestimate the North Carolina real estate exam.

If First Real Estate School can do anything to help you, contact us at 828 440 1064 or www.firstrealestateschool.com .  We are in Hendersonville, North Carolina.  We have videos on line to help you.  We have several articles right here on this blog.  We also teach post license classes.

The North Carolina Real Estate Exam, Pass It The First Time.

If you are soon taking the North Carolina real estate exam, heed this advice.  Last month, I had a man call me from Fayetteville.  That is a long way from Hendersonville.  He had failed the North Carolina portion of the North Carolina real estate exam eleven times.  Compute his expense on that adventure.

He was calling me looking for advice.  He had watched my free North Carolina real estate math videos on You Tube.  He had read some of my articles.  I could feel the frustration in his voice.  He claimed that he had studied.  Here is the advice that I gave him.  I want to give you the same advice.

Ron Climer, Instructor at First Real Estate School
If you are paying $64 to take the North Carolina real estate exam, plan on passing.  Be prepared if you do not pass.  Leave a legal pad and a pen on the seat of your car.  If you fail, before you start the car, write down as many questions as you can remember.  This information is gold.  It is never going to be fresher in your mind.

You do not have to write down the whole question.  Write the concept.  Do you need a license to advertise a auction?  When to deposit escrow check?  What is heated living area?  When do I have to take post license course?  When does license expire?  If you take the test eleven times, you will probably see some of these questions again.  Take you textbook and thumb through it.  Remind yourself of concepts.

If you saw words on the exam that you did not know what they meant, write them down.  Look them up in the glossary or dictionary.

Sixty one per cent of the applicants passed the North Carolina real estate exam the first time last month.  Thirty nine per cent need to follow my advice.  Thirty nine per cent will be paying $$$$$$ to take the North Carolina real estate exam again.

Only 27% of repeat test takers passed last month..  If you are taking the exam for the second time, follow this advice.  Your odds of passing are four to one against you.

STUDY STUDY STUDY If you are soon taking the North Carolina real estate exam or your real estate school test for the first time soon, watch my free North Carolina real estate math videos.  There are a dozen of them.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMdJ-2iHepM     Here is a link to one.  Take my free practice test after your real estate class is almost over.  Take any other practice tests that you can find.

Get in touch with your classmates.  Study together.  Encourage each other.  Share study aids and tips that you find.  (like this article or my math videos)

Make flash cards.  Trade them with your classmates.  Make a deal with your classmate.  I will make fifty flashcards.  You make fifty flashcards.  We will trade flashcards Tuesday night.  Next Tuesday, we will trade back.   Make copies and do this with several friends.
First Real Estate School in Hendersonville, North Carolina

At my Toastmasters club,http://fourseasonstoastmasters.com/ we always have a "word of the day" that we are expected to use during the weekly meeting.  Last week's word was salient.  Go to each chapter in your textbook and pick out the ten most salient points of the chapter.  Study these points.  That is what test writers do.  They want to test you on the salient ideas.

Do not underestimate the North Carolina real estate exam. Last month's pass rate was 61%.  This is not an easy test.  Turn off the TV.  Turn off Facebook.  Turn on the study machine.  Pick up your textbook.  Watch my You Tube videos.

If you live anywhere near Hendersonville, North Carolina, take you basic real estate course from First Real Estate School at 404 S. Real Estate Education Secrets Revealed in The Asheville Area

First Real Estate School at 404 S. Main Street in Hendersonville is a great place to take your real estate broker pre license course.  The tuition is $300.

This is the course you need to take if you want to get your North Carolina real estate license.  After passing this 75 hour class, a real estate license applicant would need to apply to the North Carolina Real Estate Commission at www.ncrec.gov to get approved to take the North Carolina real estate exam.  This test is given in Asheville.
First Real Estate School in Hendersonville, North Carolina

Attending the right real estate school with the right instructor is a step in the right direction to passing your North Carolina real estate license exam the first time.

All real estate instruction is not the same.  Ron Climer, at First Real Estate School, makes the 75 hour real estate broker pre license course as much fun as a real estate class can be.

Fun is not our number one concern.  You passing your real estate exam is our number one concern.  This is our number one goal.  It costs you $64 every time you take the North Carolina real estate exam.  Once is certainly enough.

It is no secret what is on the North Carolina real estate exam. The North Carolina Real Estate Commission tells you right in their forty page booklet, "Real Estate Licensing In North Carolina".  You can download this booklet from their website for FREE.  It tells you exactly what is on the real estate exam.  It tells you how many questions come out of each chapter.  This brochure tells you what you need to be studying if you strive to pass the first time.  At First Real Estate School,www.firstrealestateschool.com  we want our students to pass the first time.  We want our real estate students to pass our test the first time.  We want our students to pass the North Carolina real estate exam the first time.  The free booklet tells you what to study.

Many real estate instructors never mention this booklet to their students.  Please do not spend $64 to take the North Carolina real estate exam before you have read every word in this forty page book.  This information is too valuable.  If you are too busy to read the entire forty pages, you have to read page 16 through 22.  That is where it tells you the questions on the state exam.  The last thing you want to do is spend half your time studying something that is only one question on the exam.

Do not underestimate the North Carolina real estate exam.  The pass rate is barely over 50%.  You need to know that what you are studying is the material on the exam.

One thing I am certain about is that real estate math is ten percent or more of the test.  Watch my North Carolina real estate math videos on You Tube.  I teach you how to do any math that is on the test.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZKyBUHbC5I      I have about twenty posted but here is a link to one.  This will help you a lot if you are soon taking the North Carolina real estate exam.

North Carolina Real Estate License, How To Get One

To get a real estate license in North Carolina, the first thing that you have to do is take a 75 hour real estate course from a real estate school that is licensed by the the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.  You have to take this real estate class live and in person.  Internet real estate classes have not arrived in North Carolina yet.  Be patient.

The best real estate school anywhere near Asheville, North Carolina is First Real Estate School at 404 South Main Street in Hendersonville, North Carolina.  Their phone umber is 828 440 1064.

The tuition for the 75 hour Broker Pre License class at First Real Estate School is $300.  That is one reason that First is the best.  Most real estate schools charge much more.  Why?  I will tell you later.

Another thing that makes First your best choice for a real estate school is the instructor.  Ron Climer is the instructor.  He is not dull.  He is not boring.  He does not read the book to you.  He tells a joke every once in a while.  He has been teaching for a loooooong time.

No matter which real estate school  you go to take your 75 hour Broker Pre License course, watch Ron Climer's real estate math videos on You Tube.  Ron Has posted several videos on You Tube to help any one that is taking a North Carolina real estate class understand the math better. The math videos are free.   It is my observation that most real estate teachers teach the math waaaaaay too fast for about half of their students.  Here is a sample video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNi0gxu98cg   Watch this video and decide for yourself if Ron is the teacher you would like to spend seventy five hours with.

The third thing that makes First Real Estate School your best choice for a real estate school is our textbook.  The text book is included in your $300 tuition.  "Modern Real Estate Practice in North Carolina" by Galaty, Allaway, Kyle and Carpenter is the best textbook available to teach North Carolina real estate laws and practices.   That is why we use it.
First real estate school in Hendersonville, North Carolina

First Real Estate School will guide you down the path to getting your North Carolina real estate license.

The next step is to apply to the North Carolina Real Estate Commission in Raleigh.  You can do this on line or through the mail.  Here is the link if you want to do it online.   https://www.ncrec.gov/     The fee for applying for a North Carolina real estate license is  $30.  https://www.ncrec.gov/Brochures/general.pdf#page=8    .

When you apply for your North Carolina real estate license , you also have to get and pay for a background check from a background company.  The fee is about forty dollars but it varies depending on how many places you have lived lately and a few other things.

Once you have passed your real estate school test and applied for your real estate license, you have to take another test given by AMP, a private testing company.  They have locations in most of the major cities. https://online.goamp.com/CandidateHome/assessmentCenterNetworkLocations.aspx

This exam is no picnic.  That is why it is important that you choose the best real estate school to take your 75 hour real estate course from.  You want a school that is teaching what is on the exam.  The fee to take this test is $64.  Forty per cent of the people that take this test, pay to go take it again.  You want to pass this test the first time.  Come to First Real Estate School in Hendersonville.  Pass the North Carolina real estate exam the first time.

North Carolina Real Estate License School, Pass The Exam

To get your North Carolina real estate license, you have to attend North Carolina real estate school.  That costs $$$$$$$.  I don't want to pay $$$$$$ for a course and fail the course.  You want to pass.  You want to pass the first time.

Many, many students don't pass the first time.  They pay their $$$$$$.  They don't pass the real estate course.  Do not let this happen to you.  When you enroll in North Carolina real estate school, remind yourself.  This is not high school.  You need to learn this stuff so you can pass the North Carolina real estate school test. Why do you need to know this stuff?  Because it is on the exam. That is the only reason.

The first thing you need to do is attend class.  Show up.  The class rules allow you to miss a certain amount of hours.  Don't miss class.  You can not learn the stuff if you are not there.   The second thing you need to do is read the book.  Either read the chapter before the instructor goes over the material or read it after the instructor goes over it.  Read the book.

The third suggestion I have for you is to learn the real estate math.  The Math is about 15% of the test.  If you instructor teaches it too fast, watch the ten free real estate math videos that I have posted on You Tube.  The cool thing about the videos is you can watch them once or you can watch then ten times.  You can also hit pause if you need to.  This is a wonderful way to learn the real estate math that is on the North Carolina real estate exam.  It is free.  It is easy.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp0blrLu9xs   There are nine other real estate math videos posted on You Tube.  If you are struggling with the math, watch them.  Do the math with me.

We also have a North Carolina real estate exam review on video that covers all the material that you need to know to pass the North Carolina real estate exam.  It is not free .  It is inexpensive ($99).  Check it out at www.northcarolinaexamreview.com  It is far less expensive than failing the North Carolina real estate school exam.  You can watch the review while you are enrolled in real estate school and after you finish real estate school and are anticipating taking your North Carolina real estate exam.  You certainly do not want to fail that.

My fourth suggestion is to pay attention to your own attitude.  Your attitude is very important.  Expect to pass.  Study with your classmates if possible and practical.  Make flash cards.  This is a super way to study.  Take a 3x5 card.  Write "What is a mortgagee?"  on the front.   Write "Lender" on the back.  Take another 3x5 card and write,"What is mortgagor?"  on the front .  Write "borrower" on the back.  Make yourself about 500 of these.  Put them on  the seat of the car.  At the red light, read a couple of the cards.  While you are watching TV, read a few cards during the commercials.  Flashcards are great.

Study.  Study.  Study.  Read the North Carolina real estate textbook.  Attend class.  Watch my free videos to learn and reinforce the real estate math.  Get my $99 review class.  www.northcarolinaexamreview.com  Make some flashcards.  Pass the first time.
